The Via Yuralpal is a main connection, leading thru the protected forest of SelvaViva The actual road is at the current moment in very bad condition. And it is clear that this important connection needs to be improved.
SelvaViva has therefore been actively working with the Napo Province to address the paving of the Via Yuralpa together with the authorities. SelvaViva wants to have a say in how the widening of the road is designed. SelvaViva insists that nature be integrated into this project. Minimal destruction of the surroundings, protection of wildlife, speed limits, etc.
The project has been on the table since 2014.
