Durante una visita de Christine y Siegfried von Steiger, surgi\u00f3 la idea de desarrollar medidas de conservaci\u00f3n sostenible para la selva tropical.<span style=\"font-size: inherit\"><\/span><\/span><\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<li class=\"elementor-icon-list-item\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-icon-list-icon\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<svg aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"e-font-icon-svg e-fas-dot-circle\" viewBox=\"0 0 512 512\" xmlns=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg\"><path d=\"M256 8C119.033 8 8 119.033 8 256s111.033 248 248 248 248-111.033 248-248S392.967 8 256 8zm80 248c0 44.112-35.888 80-80 80s-80-35.888-80-80 35.888-80 80-80 80 35.888 80 80z\"><\/path><\/svg>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-icon-list-text\"><strong>1993<\/strong> <span> Christine adquiri\u00f3 39 hect\u00e1reas de terreno, donde se estableci\u00f3 el proyecto amaZOOnico. En 1994, amaZOOnico abri\u00f3 sus puertas como un centro de rescate de vida silvestre reconocido por el estado y contin\u00faa operando en la actualidad. En 1994, la Cooperativa para la Conservaci\u00f3n de la Selva Tropical SelvaViva (GSR) se inscribi\u00f3 en el registro mercantil del Cant\u00f3n de Berna, Suiza. Previamente, se hab\u00edan adquirido las primeras 200 hect\u00e1reas de terreno.<\/span><\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<li class=\"elementor-icon-list-item\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-icon-list-icon\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<svg aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"e-font-icon-svg e-fas-dot-circle\" viewBox=\"0 0 512 512\" xmlns=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg\"><path d=\"M256 8C119.033 8 8 119.033 8 256s111.033 248 248 248 248-111.033 248-248S392.967 8 256 8zm80 248c0 44.112-35.888 80-80 80s-80-35.888-80-80 35.888-80 80-80 80 35.888 80 80z\"><\/path><\/svg>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-icon-list-text\"><strong>1994<\/strong> <span> con el apoyo de la GSR, se fund\u00f3 el proyecto de ecoturismo Runa Huasi para generar ingresos para la comunidad kichwa local. Esto se hizo necesario porque en 1995, GSR Selva Viva qued\u00f3 bajo la jurisdicci\u00f3n del Ministerio de Agricultura y Ganader\u00eda y del Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores. Con la creaci\u00f3n del Ministerio del Ambiente de Ecuador y la consiguiente transferencia de datos y documentos, GSR dej\u00f3 de existir como entidad legalmente competente.
