The purchased land comes exclusively from former settlers and not from Indigenous people. SelvaViva Ecuador currently actively protects these properties with three forest rangers. The foundation is also committed to the sustainable protection of the rights of the Indigenous population through education, training in sustainable rainforest management, environmental education, and more.
